01. Selling with chooko

 

1.1 How to sign-up to sell on chooko:

  • To sign up click ‘sign-up for free’ on the homepage.
  • Select ‘create an account’ and add your information. 
  • Set up your seller profile and connect your Paypal. (It is important to add your address and connect your Paypal so you can get paid for sales).
  • Now you are ready to being selling on chooko! Yay!

1.2  How to list an item on chooko:

  • To list an item select’ list an item’ in the selling dashboard.
  • Here you will select if the item you are selling is apparel and equipment. 
  • Give your item a name
  • Add a price
  • Add more details on sport, item type, brand, size
  • Add a description detailing the fit, any defections, measurements or comments on your item.
  • Add shipping details
  • Post your item and start selling with chooko!!

Please use high-quality images to show your pieces and ensure there is a photo of the item’s condition.

The more details you add the more likely your item will sell.

If you can’t find the sport or brand you are looking for please select “Not listed” from the dropdown. We are working hard to expand these lists and update them regularly.

1.3  How to price an item on chooko

When pricing items please ensure that they reflect the quality of the goods listed and the price is fair based on the original price paid. Pricing is at the seller’s discretion.

1.4 What makes a great item listing

A great item listing means all the information is there, the pictures are of all areas of the product, correct measurements are provided and any clauses the seller may have are clearly stated.

1.5 Can I sell or sign-up if I am based outside of Ireland?

For now, chooko is Ireland’s first online marketplace solely dedicated to the resale of preloved sports equipment and sports apparel within the Republic of Ireland only. We will be expanding to the UK and Europe in the future, watch this space. 

1.6 Do I have to pay anything to sell on chooko?

No, you do not pay anything upfront. Signing up with chooko is completely free. It’s a no-brainer. No transaction fee will be taken until you sell an item. Once an item is sold a 10% selling fee will be deducted from the overall price of the item including shipping.

1.7 How do discounts work?

We’ve made it easy for you, you simply enter a discounted price when you are listing an item on the selling dashboard. You can also schedule your discounted price for a certain period of time and this can be updated or edited at any time via the item listing on your selling dashboard. 

1.8 What will I be charged per transaction for selling on chooko?

Once an item sells, chooko will automatically charge a 10% fee on the sale price (including the shipping costs). The fee will be taken from your connected PayPal account. Paypal also has a standard transaction fee for Irish-based merchants -PayPal transaction 3.40% + EUR 0.35, card payments 1.20% + EUR 0.35)

 

1.9 Simple tips for taking great photos of your listings

Our suggestion would be to take your chooko pictures against a white background with bright lighting. Make sure you fit every element of the product into the frame so the buyer can clearly see the item in its entirety. If you are shooting apparel, we suggest you try the clothing to show the buyer how the item fits. Once again, these are suggestions and are at the seller’s discretion, taking pictures in this manner will not guarantee a sale.

 

1.10 How to find items to list

Here at chooko we only allow the resale of preloved sports equipment and apparel.  Any item used for your chosen sport,  whether that is either equipment or apparel is welcome on chooko for resale. 

1.11 Here are some do’s and don’ts when listing your items on chooko. 

 Do’s:

  • Add measurements. Sizes can vary a lot between brands, so add the exact measurements of the item to let buyers know how it fits.
  • Describe the condition of the item, noting any flaws or signs of wear.
  • Finish with reasons to buy from you. Add your shipping info, and any other info at the end of your description. That way buyers won’t get distracted by it when they first see your item and are trying to figure out if it’s a fit for them. 
  • Describe the item clearly and accurately, leading with the most relevant keywords. 

 Don’t:

  • Don’t include irrelevant or repetitive keywords, brands or tags. 
  • Don’t forget the details The more complete your listing, the better we can match it to buyer searches.
  • Make sure you add all relevant item info, including:
    • Item location
    • Item type
    • Brand
    • Size
    • Colour
    • Condition
    • Price. We recommend pricing your item based on similar items currently being sold on chooko as well as any similar items you may already have sold on chooko.

1.12 How do I post and ship items via chooko:

Adding a shipping cost is at the seller’s discretion while listing an item. You can use any shipping provider you like, we recommend you add the provider’s details and tracking number and share this information with the buyer so the buyer can track the item.

 

1.13 Can I leave feedback for buyers:

Yes, when an item is purchased from you there is an option to leave feedback on the buyer’s profile where you can leave a review and a rating.

 

1.14 What can I not sell on chooko?

chooko is a site totally dedicated to the resale of ONLY sports apparel and sports equipment. Please become familiar with our chooko restricted items list. list below.  The chooko team will remove anything that does not fall under this category.

Restricted items

The definitions listed below (“AUP Definitions”) apply to chooko’s ‘Acceptable Use Policy’. chooko reserves the right to update and change the AUP definitions at any time. 

“Materials” means any photo, image, video, graphic, written content, audio file, code, information, data or other content uploaded, collected, generated, stored, displayed, distributed, transmitted or exhibited on or in connection with your Account.

“Services” has the meaning set out in chooko’s Terms of Service.

“Restricted items” You may not offer goods or services that are, or appear to be Restricted Items.

1.15 How do I give a refund?

02. Buying with chooko

 

2.1 Finding an item

To find an item, you can browse through our product landing page and filter by your favourite sport or item type. You can also follow the link from your favourite sportsperson’s bio to their profile page which will have their listed products.

 

2.2 Learn about the item you found

Read the item description carefully. If you have any questions about the item, you can find answers by messaging the seller directly from the listing.

 

2.3 Review the seller’s feedback

View the seller’s reputation by looking at his or her feedback, and read the comments left by previous buyers to be sure that this is a seller you feel you can trust.

 

2.4 Add items to your shopping basket

When you click Buy Now, the item will be held in your shopping bag for an hour and you can complete the transaction in your own time. 

 

2.5 Payment

Payment is instant and via the PayPal Platform.

We are dedicated to your shopping experience on chooko being fun and easy. Most transactions are completed without any issues. But if anything does go wrong, please contact Paypal Support. 

2.6 I never received my item or the item isn’t what I was expecting

2.7 I didn’t receive a refund or I can’t find it

All purchases made through the chooko are covered by Buyer Protection. If you paid using PayPal, you will need to open a dispute directly on PayPal, which you can open from 7 days up to 180 days from the transaction date. Don’t forget to escalate your dispute to a claim in the PayPal resolution centre if you aren’t getting things resolved with the seller directly. Please see the following article:

If you have been through the PayPal dispute process and still need a hand, then you can contact us directly at hello@kitt.ie 

All transactions via PayPal will need to first be raised through the PayPal dispute process. Because these transactions come directly from the buyer’s and seller’s PayPal accounts, we have no access or visibility to resolve this on your behalf, however, we can provide advice and assistance to help you get things sorted. 

2.8 I want to cancel my order

If you want to cancel an order, you’ll need to message the seller and ask if they can cancel it for you. The seller can either accept or decline your cancellation request. If the seller has already posted your order, they won’t be able to cancel it. 

2.9 Can I leave feedback for sellers?

Yes, when you purchase an item there is an option to leave feedback on the seller’s profile where you can leave a review and a rating.

 

2.10 Buy and sell on the chooko website

To stay safe while using chooko, you always need to buy and sell on the chooko website. This way we can keep you and your money protected, and help out if anything goes wrong. Buying or selling outside of the website is monitored via keywords and is strictly prohibited. If you are found to be selling outside the website, your account will be deleted.
